Quarry to Completion in Action: How We’ve Helped Build Folly Farm
Some partnerships happen once, for one job, and that’s it. Others go on for years, growing as the site itself grows. Our relationship with Folly Farm is very much the second kind.
We’ve been working with Folly Farm for decades now, and in that time we’ve had a hand in a genuinely wide range of the work that’s shaped the site into what it is today.
A Wide Range of Work, One Team Throughout
Over the years, A&C has carried out:
- Aggregates supply across the site
- Tarmac and surfacing works
- Drainage, including underground drainage
- Construction on multiple areas, including the retail space and gift shop
- Groundwork for the holiday park, including bases for lodges
- Paths throughout the site
- The coffee shop patio
That’s a genuinely broad spread of work, and the reason it’s been possible is the same reason we talk about “quarry to completion” as more than just a phrase: because it’s all one team, working to one standard, it means Folly Farm hasn’t had to bring in a different contractor for each stage. Drainage, surfacing, construction, all handled by people who already understood the site, the ground, and what had come before.
Hearing It From Folly Farm Directly
We recently sat down with Chris, Folly Farm’s Managing Director, to talk about the work we’ve done together and what it’s meant for them over the years. Rather than us telling that story on their behalf, we thought it was worth letting him say it in his own words – so we filmed the conversation rather than just writing it up.
(If you haven’t seen it yet, the interview is on our social channels – well worth a watch if you want the full picture from Folly Farm’s side rather than ours.)
What This Partnership Actually Shows
It would be easy to treat a case study like this as a list of jobs completed, but the more interesting part is what it demonstrates about how we work generally, not just at Folly Farm.
A site like Folly Farm doesn’t stand still. It grows, it adds new areas, it needs ongoing maintenance alongside new build work. That kind of long-term relationship only works if the contractor involved can be trusted across a genuinely wide range of work, not just one specialism, and if there’s continuity from one project to the next rather than starting from scratch with someone new each time.
That’s exactly what “quarry to completion” means in practice. Not a slogan, just a description of how a project like this actually gets delivered.
Proud to Still Be Part of It
We’re proud to continue supporting local businesses across West Wales, and Folly Farm is one of the clearest examples of what that support can look like over the long term. A relationship that’s lasted decades, work that’s spanned nearly every part of what we do, and a site we’re genuinely glad to have played a part in building.
